Brad raced triathlon professionally from 2015 - 2021. Brad served in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years from 2004 through 2014, working as an aircraft maintenance technician, with much of his time spent overseas in South Korea, Turkey, and Afghanistan during his military career. Alongside work commitments, he managed to grow in the sport, culminating with his selection as the 2012 Air Force Athlete of the Year.

 

In 2011, Brad turned his focus to long course triathlon and set out to qualify for the IRONMAN World Championships. Under the guidance of coach Scott DeFilippis, Brad qualified at his first attempt to qualify at IRONMAN Korea. Fast forward 3 years, and Brad was back to Kona for the fourth time in 2014.  Brad raced primarily as an Age Group athlete in 2014. After a tough day at the 2014 IRONMAN World Championships, he bounced back to make his pro debut at the Ocean Lava Triathlon / Spanish Long Course National Championships and finish as the 8th Professional. Over his 7 years as a professional he had 37 race starts with 22 Top 10's, 6 Top 5's and a 70.3 Win.

Brad now spends his time coaching athletes from beginners to IM World Championship qualifiers with a focus of keeping a balanced and healthy lifestyle in the sport of triathlon. Alongside his coaching work he works for Precision Fuel & Hydration and is a father to three young children.

STAFF SERGEANT BRADLEY T. WILLIAMS

Staff Sergeant Bradley T. Williams was a Tactical Aircraft Maintenance Journeyman while in the Air Force. Sergeant Williams was born in Modesto, California, on 18 March 1986. He attended Riverbank High School, graduating in May 2004. He lettered for two years in football and basketball. He was a member of the academic decathlon team and was president of the local 4-H club.  Prior to graduation, Sergeant Williams enlisted in the Air Force under the delayed enlistment program.  He officially entered and arrived at Lackland AFB in August of 2004 for basic training.  Upon graduation, he attended technical training as a Tactical Aircraft Maintenance Specialist at Sheppard AFB, Texas.  Sergeant Williams’ first assignment was to the 4th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Seymour Johnson AFB, North Carolina, in April of 2005. Sergeant Williams has a diverse background as an Assistant Dedicated Crew Chief, Postal Service Center Section Supervisor and Registered Mail Section Supervisor, Transient Alert/Crash Recovery Shift Leader, and a Senior Weapons System Coordinator.  His military awards and decorations include the Air Force Commendation Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Air Force Achievement Medal with one oak leaf cluster, and Korean Defense Service Medal.  He was also selected as the 2009 Air Force Postal Airman of the Year and the 2012 Air Force Athlete of the Year.  He was active in the military and civilian community as an active member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Team Red, White, and Blue.
